Want NAND Memory? Tough Shit, Says Samsung.
Source: Neowin
As if the proliferation of iPods (and thus, the cancer known as iTunes and the popularization of crappy bit-rate MP3s with DRM) and the recent influx of Apple fanboyism (*shudder*) wasn’t bad enough, Apple has found another way to inconvenience and trouble us: they’re buying up all the damned flash memory for their damn iPhones!
That’s right: on Wednesday, Apple placed an order for 50 million 8GB NAND flash memory chips for the iPhone. Because of this, Samsung is alerting other customers (you know, the ones that actually matter) that those wanting similar chips (like for flash USB drives, etc.) will simply have to wait because these chips will be hard to come by for a while.
Apparently, Steve Jobs and his shit products is more important than consumers (who would likely pay more anyways). Good thing I’m not in the market for one of these right now, but i still think it’s horse shit. Hell, it’s not like the iPhone is anything worth writing home about anyways. ^_^
I like Samsung alright (hell, I use one of their monitors, and it’s pretty sweet), but stuff like this pisses me off. Jobs should have had to wait, not the rest us. I despise that fucker… >.< That’s right! I said it! Someone had to! *awaits the mass flood of Mac fanboys with a fire extinguisher*
Edit: Strangely, the article over at Neowin seems to no longer be up. Did poor Steve-O get butthurt because the news makes him and his company look like a douche? ^_^ Interesting… Of course, it could just be some “technical problem”.
